With a normal halogen bulb, you supply less current, and the bulb dims gradually until you get to 0v and the bulb goes out. Oct 25, 2020 · Hey all, so I’ve been replacing my old halogen bulbs in my 2012 Fiat 500 Sport with LEDs (turn signals and brake lights done so far). I had no issue with the turn signals as the lights I got are Canbus ready. However, for my brake lights, I’ve been having issues with getting the car’s computer to stop warning me to “Check stop lamps”. Do LED Tail Lights Need Resistors? Just to straighten you out on the LED's. If you had LED's without internal resistors, they'd blow the second you hooked them up. The equalizer is needed for the flasher relay, because the flasher is designed for a load of about 20-40 watts. The LED's only load the flasher with 2-3 watt's so the flasher mis-behaves.
